
The portrait that started the entire project. It was by chance, really - I forget the reasons why I did a portrait in the first place. I suspect it was for some project, but as it turns out I was rather please with the end result.
That's not to say I didn't adapt the style after this one, of course. I wasn't too keen on some of the strokes made in this illustration - notably round the face and tie, as the varied line weight makes it look a little untidy.
The style of shading and hi-saturation colours, however, did remain in the following 99 portraits.
